On February 16th, 1989 Ascend Justice was incorporated as Pro Bono Advocates, a private not-for-profit corporation. In 2007, our name was changed to the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic (DVLC) and in 2019, DVLC changed its name to Ascend Justice following a merger with The Family Defense Center.
