We met Susana in 2011 after the father of her children held a gun to her head. Homeless and unemployed, she reconciled with him, but he kept her locked in the house with her children for months, not allowing them to leave. In 2015 she came back for help. One of our family law attorneys and a Client Support Coordinator worked with Susana for years, helping her win custody of her children and financial support. Eight years after she first tried to leave, Susana is an entrepreneur, living in independence and safety with her children.
